FAQ'S
- Why is OHSS the #1 choice for me to purchase my hot tub?
We stand behind our product, and behind our customers. We have been in business, under the same ownership, for nearly 30 years. We sell only the highest quality spas -- made by Hot Spring. Our in-house Service Technicians are experts on our products, and provide outstanding care. And more people all over the world have chosen Hot Spring than any other spa. You should too!
- What's the difference between 115 volts and 230 volts in a spa? I can't decide which way to go.
With 115 volts you don't need hard wiring, only a dedicated 20-amp waterproof electrical outlet (which is included) since they are so energy-efficient, which minimizes cost. In a 115v, the heater will turn off when the jet pump is turned on. This lets you soak longer, and your body won't over-heat. In a 230v spa, the heater runs while the jet pump operates, keeping water hotter longer while the jets are in use. The230v requires a subpanel. Electricity use for heating water is the same with 115 and 230v, assuming an equal volume of water, equal temperatures and use.
- I have an electrical subpanel already. Do I need yours?
An electrical subpanel with two circuits and GFCI breakers is included with each 230v spa. This subpanel requires a 50 amp, single phase, 230v, four-wire service.
- Can you guys do my electric?
Unfortunately we do not do electrical work. But we can point you to a wonderful electrician.
- Can I wire my hot tub myself? Will you give me advice?
Yes, you can. But we are prohibited by law from giving you advice. Your best bet is to have all electrical work done by an experienced, licensed electrician, using appropriate electrical conduit, fittings and wire for all circuits.
- What kind of base can be used for my spa?
Your spa will perform on many kinds of common yard surfaces. A level reinforced concrete slab at least 4" thick is best for long-term use. Other foundations such as brick surfaces or wood decking are fine as long as they are level. "Soft" surfaces tend to settle unevenly, resulting in an unlevel spa.
- Are there any guidelines for placing my hot tub on an elevated deck?
You must know the deck's maximum load capacity to be certain it can support your spa. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer before you place the spa on an elevated deck or indoors. To find the spa's weight, refer to the specification chart for the spa of your choice. For larger spas, the deck must withstand more than 115 lbs per square foot.
- What about sinking my spa into a deck?
It is essential to leave access to the equipment compartment for troubleshooting and potential repairs! Customers are generally responsible for removing the deck in case the spa might have to be removed for repair.

- What warranties does my OHSS hot tub / service have?

We warranty all service calls for 90 days.
- How long does it take to have my hot tub delivered?
It normally takes about 3 weeks to order a spa from the manufacturer. Then we schedule the delivery with you within 1-2 weeks. If you choose a spa we have in stock, delivery can often be within a couple of weeks.

CUSTOMER COMMENTS
I am calling because i do not feel this is done often enough! I will recommend Oregon HotSpring Spas every day. We have a lot of friends who own spas (not Oregon HotSpring Spas) who complain all the time about the service they receive. We have had our spa for a while and we love it! Recently when the spa did not heat, we called your Service Department, explained the problem and a service technician came out within two days! We were shocked because of the complaints of our friends. The service manager, Ed, called us back immediately and scheduled a date right away to have our spa worked on. The technician was Lonnie McCann; he was the most courteous, knowledgeable and helpful person. We will always recommend Oregon HotSpring Spas and we will always be loyal customers because of your service.
